I have been involved with clay since first taking an adult education class in 1976. After taking multiple classes at the Decordova Museum, I began experimenting with different decorating techniques and found engobes and sgraffito to be the most satisfying.

I try to make pieces that bring a smile to the user as well as being functional, whether it’s handles that fit comfortably in the hand or spouts that pour properly. Even after so many years of working in clay, I can always learn from other potters, new technology that wasn’t available many years ago, and from the clay itself.
