Suzanne Crane
Suzanne Crane has been experimenting with a wide number of new clay bodies since Hurricane Helene wiped out Highwater Clays in Ashville, NC, where the clay she'd been using for more than 25 years had been sourced. She's also playing with new forms of decorating, such as using underglazes to paint bird and plant forms similar to her watercolor field notes. A large portion of this experimentation has been poured into making whiskey cups for an upcoming fundraiser for Ukraine. Who knows what she'll be doing once the Studio Tour rolls around in November!
